Classy Indian wedding in a historical venue in Tuscany

H&M are a young, modern, elegant and very ambitious couple who decided to celebrate their Sikh wedding in Italy with their 120 guests. They chose Tuscany for the beauty of its landscapes, and they were looking for an important historical venue for their Indian wedding. Tuscany is the land of the Medici family, and it is also a region very rich in wedding venues. Especially historical ones, properties of noble families that have been converted into wedding locations and that retain all their medieval or Renaissance charm. It is no coincidence that foreign couples are fascinated by the combination of the beautiful Tuscan landscapes with olive trees, cypress, vineyards and these beautiful, very particular buildings and structures. They remain so fascinated that they want to get married right there, in Tuscany.

This couple was also looking for a venue with character. After our scouting – during which we proposed a careful selection of suitable structures – they chose a magnificent Medici villa in the heart of Tuscany, perfect for their vision of the wedding. The villa also has annexed accommodation facilities, such as a high-level Hotel and a rustic Borgo. It offers all the services needed to have a maximum comfort stay. There are swimming pools, restaurants, bars and various options for activities during free time. But obviously the gem of this property is this wonderful Villa that belonged to the Medici family. It stands majestically on a hill with expanses of olive groves and vineyards. It is located in front of the medieval village, offering postcard views, just what one imagines when thinking of Tuscany.

Two days of Indian pre-wedding events in a panoramic venue in Tuscany

H&M’s celebrations lasted over three days, as often happens in Indian marriages abroad. We started with a welcome party in the Borgo restaurant right in front of the Medici villa. Two long nude wooden tables were decorated in a rustic but very charming style, with vases of wildflowers and candles. The rows of lights above gave a perfect Tuscan atmosphere, making the guests immediately immerse themselves in the Italian mood. Obviously, Aperol spritz, and Italian pizzas could not be missed for the joy of the guests.

The second day was dedicated to the pre-wedding events. For this we moved to the main area where in the event space there is a beautiful and panoramic garden overlooking the valley with an adjoining gazebo to be used in case of bad weather. In the morning, we prepared a gazebo decorated in yellow and white for the bride and groom’s Mayian.

For this typical Sikh pre-wedding event, the ladies prepared Rangoli, and then joyfully everyone covered the bride and groom with turmeric paste amid laughter and good wishes. The newlyweds were very tender with each other, you could see that they loved each other very much and they always gave each other caresses and loving glances for the joy of the photographers. .

The evening was dedicated to Jago, a traditional and fun party, full of music – thanks to both the excellent Dhol player and the great DJ from the UK who entertained the guests. Of course there was the classic shoe game, lots of good food and alcohol. And the setup was navy blue themed, for which we used blue tablecloths decorating them with Lanterns and white flowers for the contrast. Of course, the wonderful panorama of Tuscany in this historic venue was the backdrop to this Indian wedding.

Sikh and Civil wedding with a postcard view of Tuscany

The third day was the wedding day and for this day we used the main villa, Villa Medici, which was the perfect majestic setting for such an important day. The Mandap was decorated with golden fabrics, red flowers mixed with golden painted leaves that perfectly matched the regal outfits of the bride and groom. Flowers on the floor and on the pillars added a touch of regalness to the whole setup. The bride wore a beautiful red Lehenga with lots of golden details and the groom had a turban in the same shade of the bride’s dress: they were a perfect couple and their Anand Karaj wedding was equally majestic with this amazing view around.

After the traditional Vidaai ceremony of the bride, H&M took off in a classic vintage Mercedes, which had red seats to match the bride and groom. The photoshoot with these stunning views was nothing short of wonderful. After the Indian lunch served in the rooms of the Villa there was a break to get ready for the dinner and reception.

Unfortunately, the forecast was not good, the weather was changing. Together with the bride and groom we decided not to take any risks and to prepare the reception inside. And before the reception there was also the civil ceremony. We set it up on the main floor of the Villa under the Loggia to give the opportunity to admire the view.

A very delicately decorated arch was placed at the top of the staircase and framed this postcard landscape: we used very delicate white, cream, and very pale pink flowers for both the arch and the bouquet and decoration of the chairs. The bride wore a mermaid dress, and the groom was magnificent in his white tuxedo: they were a really beautiful couple.

Not everyone knows that in Italy you can celebrate marriages for foreigners with legal value without having to re-do the wedding in your country. In fact our bride and groom took advantage of this opportunity to also have their civil wedding in Tuscany, also to be able to celebrate just one anniversary in the future. The ceremony was beautiful, the vows were emotional, and it was an overall joy for the families and guests. Despite the light rain everyone was covered and the photos after the ceremony were still beautiful.

The reception was set up in one of the historic rooms of this beautiful Tuscan Villa. We opted for round tables with tall gold candelabras that were perfect for this wedding. Everything was very elegant and classy. The excellent Italian food served by a high level catering compamy, the tasty desserts, the beautiful cake followed by wild dancing were the fulcrum of this reception. It was a very beautiful wedding, very joyful, and in a perfect location for this couple. We received so many compliments, and we could not be more happy with the result of our work.
