Relaxing Indian wedding in a seaside family resort in Italy
Vaani and Sorabh dreamed of an intimate wedding amidst the stunning landscapes of Italy, but they were worried about matching their wishes with the available options in Italy while staying within their budget. They wanted to be together with their 120 guests, spending their wedding days without rushing, in a relaxed atmosphere that felt like a true vacation. In fact, a wedding vacation is exactly what many couples look for when they turn to us. For this type of request, we often suggest resorts where this kind of wedding is ideal. Depending on whether they want to get married by the sea or in the countryside, we find locations that best suit their needs and the number of guests.
Vaani and Sorabh wanted a seaside wedding, with the ocean as the backdrop for their Hindu ceremony. During our scouting trip, we explored venues between Cilento and Sicily. The couple fell in love with a wonderful seaside resort in Cilento, Southern Italy,—a family-style resort experienced with the organization of an Indian wedding. They were immediately enchanted by the lush greenery, the wide beach, the excellent food, and the warm, family-run atmosphere. Initially, they had only planned for a welcome party as a pre-wedding event, but after seeing the resort’s many beautiful spaces, they decided to add more events.

After a small welcome drink on the day of arrival, the second day was entirely dedicated to pre-wedding celebrations. The Haldi ceremony had to take place on the beach, of course. Even though the water wasn’t very warm, that didn’t stop the guests from diving into the sea. Since it was early in the season, the beach was empty—perfect for any kind of celebration. In fact, when couples choose beachside locations for their weddings, we always recommend having the celebrations at the beginning or end of the season. That way, there are no sunbathers in swimsuits, no endless rows of umbrellas, and fewer onlookers curious about the colorful Indian rituals. Vaani and Sorabh found the ideal setting.
The Haldi ceremony was set up under a small gazebo on the beach, providing shade from the sun. Despite the early season, the weather was quite hot. A simple decoration with marigold garlands was all that was needed. Covered in turmeric, the joyful couple and their guests ran into the sea, laughing and cheering.
That evening was dedicated to the Sangeet and Mehndi. The bride had her bridal Mehndi done the night before, but for the guests, we set up a Mehndi corner during the event, with Italian Mehndi artists decorating their hands. For this celebration, we chose a courtyard at the resort, decorated with string lights that lit up at night, along with additional fairy lights for a magical atmosphere. The Mehndi corner was set up under a jasmine-covered gazebo, decorated with Indian parasols, colorful fabrics, and a small bazaar-style stall. A few scattered colorful cushions added the perfect finishing touch.
Of course, the dinner had to be a pizza party, featuring local specialties like bruschetta, fried pizza, and, of course, gelato. Since the bride is a dance instructor, she choreographed stunning performances, and her solo dance was absolutely beautiful. Everyone had a fantastic time, enjoying a relaxed evening just as the couple had envisioned—sipping Aperol, sharing slices of pizza, dancing, and making unforgettable memories with their loved ones.
