Sun, Sea, and Celebration: Indian Events at an Italian Seaside Wedding Venue
Rishi and Pallavi are a young couple from Chicago, very sweet and very much in love. Their wedding was a clear proof of the centrality and importance of the family in Indian weddings. In fact, right from the start, the newlyweds delegated to their parents the choice of the villa. Also most of the planning was done with Rishi and Pallavi’s both sets of parents – two equally beautiful and close-knit couples with strong family ties. It is always a great pleasure to work for weddings like this.
200 guests from the United States were expected, so they were looking for an Italian seaside venue where they could organize 3 days of wedding celebrations. They also wanted various spaces with a sea view and accommodation for their numerous guests on-site and nearby. During our venue scouting we always propose venues and only after we have carried out very thorough research, based on the criteria provided by the couples. For Rishi and Pallavi it was not important where to get married in Italy; it was important to find a venue with the right characteristics.
When the parents came to Italy to choose the villa, we visited the venues on the Amalfi Coast, in Sicily and on Lake Maggiore. We basically crossed all of Italy from north to south to find the right venue, the one that in 10 months would have hosted the wedding of their son Rishi, an only child, and their daughter Pallavi, second of two daughters – this would have been the wedding of their beloved children and that’s why the parents cared so much about finding a venue with the wow-factor, to impress them and their many guests.
The choice was almost immediate as soon as we arrived at a wonderful Italian wedding venue on the seaside of Sorrento. It’s positioned on top of a cliff overlooking the gulf of Naples, Vesuvius, and the islands of Ischia and Capri. It is a very popular villa among our couples, and also one of our favorites, precisely because of its immense beauty. It doesn’t come as a surprise, that almost always couples who have criteria similar to those of Rishi and Pallavi, end up choosing this Villa. Because it is impossible not to fall in love with these views.
Indian pre-wedding events with Italian vibes
The wedding was divided into three days, with the first two days being dedicated to pre-wedding events. With so many guests, we chose an important hotel just a few minutes away by car, where almost all the guests stayed, while the main villa was reserved to host the families. This hotel was the place where the welcome dinner was held. The newlyweds wanted in a Neapolitan theme, not just Italian. They wanted to pay homage to the region where they were and their culture and cuisine. There was a dinner based on local specialties like pasta, pizza and mozzarella made live on site. The evening was accompanied by a local musical trio, the typical “Posteggia Napoletana”. Also the table settings were themed with flowers, lemons and chili peppers. It was a very successful first event and everyone complimented us.
Everyone especially appreciated our management of the transport, since we had to organize the transfer of the guests from the villa to the hotel, and for the following days from the hotel to the villa. Since it is our job, we know very well how to manage it and we did not have any hitches.
The second day was dedicated to the pre-wedding events of the Indian tradition. We started with Haldi in the morning, that we set up on the terrace of the annex of the main Villa. A beautiful glass terrace with a direct view of Capri, where we set up a yellow gazebo with yellow fabrics and marigold garlands. The guests were dressed in yellow, and it was beautiful to see Rishi and Pallavi being covered in turmeric for the joy of their parents. In the garden below the terrace a vegetarian buffet lunch was served after the function.
Dancing and Party at an Italian seaside wedding venue
While the guests were changing, we set up the Sangeet in the beach club of the Villa. This setup was truly wonderful. The beach club was the perfect canvas: a modern all-white structure located right by the sea, which we transformed into a vibrant and colorful location for this event. The newlyweds chose the color fuchsia as the main theme of the night. So we created a “fuchsia carpet” for the entrance of the guests with curtains and fuchsia ribbons, as well as cushions along the entrance’s low wall to create a wow effect. The dinner area under a large gazebo was set up with fuchsia tablecloths, centerpieces of low golden vases full of gerberas and candles, and chandeliers full of greenery with fuchsia ribbons illuminated the area.
The heart of the evening was definitely the dance area. We built a large platform with fuchsia carpet and a roof of colored lights to create a wonderful effect. Behind the platform, we positioned 3 mehndi stations with fuchsia umbrellas and poufs for the very talented henna artists and the guests who wanted to have their hands decorated. While all around the platform there were seats for the guests, and in a central position the most important seats for the newlyweds and their parents to best enjoy the performances of their guests.
It was the most beautiful Sangeet we have ever attended, with almost an hour of amazing performances. The prize for the best dancer ever definitely goes to the groom, who proved to be a professional performer who delighted everyone with his moves. An evening of dancing and praising, and above all joy: an atmosphere full of warmth, and good food! It was an Italian BBQ buffet served by the villa’s catering with whom we have been working for years and we know how high-level the food they prepare is.
Our trusted DJ flew from the UK to cheer up the party and also the following day of celebrations. Music was an important part of the life of the newlyweds; there were numerous calls with the DJ to define the playlists for each event. For this very reason, the choice of DJ and music was the only part of the planning that Rishi and Pallavi followed in total autonomy and with great passion, and on the spot it was immediately clear to us why.
We loved this event so much and were thrilled and grateful to the entire team of our trusted suppliers for putting together such a special party.
