Gorgeous Hindu wedding celebrations in Tuscany
Pooja and Malin’s Hindu wedding celebrations took place in a large, contemporary resort tucked away in the Tuscan mountains. When we started our Venue Scouting service, the couple asked us to find a place where they could stay with their 300 guests all together and where they could celebrate their two-day wedding. We immediately thought of this resort that we know well and that ticked all the boxes for such a request. It is a perfect place for large celebrations. The resort offers numerous rooms and various spaces both outside and inside capable of hosting weddings of this magnitude. Since the couple was looking for a place with beautiful panoramic views of the Italian countryside, this solution was the best for them. In fact, all the spaces were perfect for Pooja and Malin’s events, with the possibility of using them all to the fullest and having a dynamic celebration.
The first day was dedicated to the pre-wedding events: Mehndi, Welcome party and Garba night. The different
moments of this afternoon/evening event were split among different terraces of the resort. Three Mehndi stations with henna artists were set up on an upper terrace with panoramic view, overlooking the main square – the heart of that event.
The couple wanted a typical Italian party, informal, with strings of lights and typical Tuscan decorations. For that reason, we proposed food stalls with Tuscan delicacies – cheeses, cured meats, pasta, focaccias. And of course what’s an Italian party without pizza and a gelato station! The pizza was prepared on site in the woodfire oven on the lower terrace of the resort by the pool. This space was also decorated in line with the main square: lights, candles, white and green decorations, lounge sets and some tables for the guests. And we also had a live music duo to liven up the evening. The peak of the night was definitely the Garba, a typical dance of Gujarat. It involves all the guests in a big circle using traditional Dandiya sticks, to end the party in the right way.
Unique wedding ceremony and reception’s setups
The second and last day of the celebrations was the most important one: the wedding day! Starting from the Hindu ceremony in the morning, for which we set up the panoramic garden of the resort with a beautiful Mandap and all the chairs in an amphitheater shape. For the Mandap, the bride wanted floral arrangements in gradient palette from white to deep red, and our trusted floral designer surely delivered! The bride&groom’s outfits were in pastel colors with pale pink and sage green embroideries which perfectly matched the décor and the Tuscan surroundings.
For his baraat the groom chose a vintage convertible Mercedes. He made his way preceded by his friends with colorful smoke bombs. The ceremony was truly beautiful and emotional, even if it was very hot – but thanks to the parasols and electric fans we hired for the occasion, the guests didn’t suffer. A typical Indian lunch, prepared by a renowned team of Indian chefs from the UK, was served after the ceremony, in the resort’s restaurant terrace with a view of the valley.
The best part of the day was definitely the final reception, which took place in the biggest hall of the resort. Being this a meeting hall, it took a lot of work to create a beautiful set up for an elegant reception dinner. Space transformation at its finest. Thanks to the skills of our floral designer, months of projects, drafts, and proposals, this space was unrecognizable. A ceiling made of white drapes and strings of lights was created to cover the actual ceiling of the hall. We set both long tables and round tables up in order to fit all these guests and leave space for the dancefloor in the middle. Colorful lights were added to the walls to create a more warm and cohesive atmosphere. Stunning centerpieces were placed on both long and round tables. All this left the guests in awe and the wow-effect was surely achieved!
A live band from the UK made all the guests dance until late night and to end the night in the perfect way a show of fireworks was displayed outside the hall to celebrate Pooja and Malin’s union. Two days of intense Hindu wedding celebrations in Tuscany, with beautiful settings, tasty Indian food, and full of fun. The couple, their families and all their friends will cherish forever these memories.
