Indian Luxury Wedding in Rome: A Celebration at an Iconic Villa

Riana and Raj are a stylish and refined Indian couple, and for their wedding in Italy, they were looking for a venue that would reflect their taste: a classy, high-end location capable of hosting their 200 guests from around the world. They also wanted a place that would impress their guests instantly—with that famous wow factor—the moment they walked through the doors. They also wanted to avoid long transfers from the airport, since many of their guests were traveling from afar, especially from the United States. So, they were looking for a convenient and easily accessible location.

Among the proposed venues, an exclusive villa in Rome immediately caught the couple’s attention. It’s no surprise, as this is the most renowned villa in the capital, often chosen by celebrities and Roman and Italian high society. Located on the highest hill in Rome, it offers a breathtaking view of the city and, in particular, of St. Peter’s Basilica, which dominates the Roman skyline.

When the couple saw photos and videos of the villa, they fell in love with it instantly and confirmed the booking even before seeing it in person. Later, during their visit, their decision was only reinforced: this villa in Rome was simply perfect for the elegant and classy Indian wedding they had envisioned.

For the wedding day, we used various areas of the villa, as the couple wished to have both a Sikh ceremony in the morning and an evening reception. When we select venues, we always ensure there is a variety of spaces to host different parts of the day in distinct settings—this helps prevent guests from getting bored and adds a dynamic flow to the event. Logistically, having multiple spaces also helps us manage setup times more efficiently. This villa offered a wide range of both indoor and outdoor areas, allowing us to enjoy the light and views during the day, and the magical atmosphere of the venue in the evening.

Sikh Ceremony: Tradition Meets Elegance in Rome

Guests arrived early, ready to witness Raj’s Baraat. We rented a stunning white Bentley, in keeping with the wedding’s white-themed color palette. Raj wanted to blend tradition with modernity: we therefore hired both a traditional Dhol player and a DJ on a golf cart, creating a truly grand entrance. The Milni took place at the villa’s most scenic spot, next to the large lawn, where renowned Indian photographer Amit captured breathtaking panoramic shots. After the Milni, guests enjoyed a Punjabi breakfast. Over samosas, parathas, and cups of masala chai, they were already able to admire the villa’s extraordinary beauty and dramatic presence.

The ceremony took place in the villa’s secret garden. A monumental cast iron gate adorned with flowers marked the entrance. Beyond the gate, a white aisle over 30 meters long led to a slightly elevated altar, decorated with asymmetrical floral arrangements. Guests sat on pastel-colored cushions, shaded by elegant white parasols, and cooled themselves with fan-shaped ceremony programs—a detail both functional and aesthetic. Every element was thoughtfully curated. A grand fountain next to the ceremony area helped keep the air cool on that warm late-May day.

The Sikh wedding ceremony was solemn, officiated by a Giani and accompanied by the melodic sounds of the raagi. The bride made a memorable entrance, wearing an elegant beige Sabyasachi look. She got ready in the villa’s rooms with a local makeup artist and styled by a well-known American stylist. Her look was sophisticated yet natural. As she descended the villa’s grand staircase, she looked like a queen.

After the wedding ceremony, amidst petal tosses and romantic photos in the villa’s corners, guests moved to the indoor halls for an Indian lunch, prepared in collaboration with Indian chefs from Rome. The food, along with the refined floral arrangements by our trusted florist, was highly appreciated. The couple also wanted a guestbook corner, decorated with family photos, candles, and flowers, creating an elegant and evocative effect.

After lunch, guests were taken back to their hotels on shuttles organized by our logistics team, which handled all transport throughout the multi-day celebration. For events of this scale, well-structured logistics are essential to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Wedding Reception in Rome: An Evening of Indian Grandeur and Celebration

In the evening, the reception was held inside the villa’s majestic ballroom, adorned with precious colored marbles, Murano crystal chandeliers, luxurious drapes, and frescoes. The couple wanted guests to admire the space, almost like a museum. We decorated the hall with lavish floral arrangements, and the couple’s table featured a floral backdrop lit with soft lighting and countless candles.

The welcome cocktail was held outside, in the square next to the portico, at sunset. Waiters in white uniforms served drinks and canapés, while a string quartet played live music, setting the tone. The highlight was a huge seating plan: a hand-painted watercolor of the villa’s façade, with over 200 individually hung name tags. Once all were taken, the full image was revealed—an original idea that guests loved. The same illustration was used for the menus, printed in booklet form and placed on the plates, adding even more elegance to the table setting.

The couple not only changed outfits for the evening but also switched cars. They arrived in a magnificent white Rolls Royce, staying true to the soft, pastel theme, with red interiors. Their entrance was regal—just like them in their stunning attire. The cake cutting took place on the panoramic terrace at sunset: flowers, candles, and a beautiful, delicious cake that everyone photographed.

One of the most appreciated touches was the photo corner. The couple, both passionate about photography, wanted to give guests a special memento. In one of the first-floor rooms, overlooking St. Peter’s Basilica with the moon in the background, we set up a space with sofas, flowers, and cushions. Professional photographers took elegant portraits, immediately printed and framed with an image of the villa—a keepsake that everyone adored.

The dinner itself was a triumph. As guests entered the ballroom, many couldn’t help but exclaim “wow!” in amazement. The service was flawless, and the event’s level was exceptionally high. But the grand finale truly stole the show: the couple invited everyone outside for a final toast, and after a brief thank-you speech, a spectacular waterfall of fireworks lit up the villa’s façade. These weren’t typical fireworks—it was a breathtaking display that left everyone speechless.

A perfect ending to an unforgettable day. With dancing, desserts, and joyful smiles, everyone was elated. The couple and their families warmly thanked us, and we couldn’t have been prouder of the outcome. All the hard work was more than worth it: it was a well-earned success.
