Regal Sikh Wedding in Tuscany: A Dream Destination Celebration
Simran and Gurpreet are a Sikh couple from the UK, very ambitious and with a clear vision of what they wanted for their wedding. They were looking for a regal setting, a venue of great historical importance, with expansive spaces and breathtaking views, as they wanted to impress their guests and celebrate their wedding in a truly unique environment.
They love Italy and have traveled here many times, especially appreciating Italian cuisine. Gurpreet proposed on Lake Como, in an event we also organized. It was a beautiful proposal in a lakeside villa, where the couple arrived by boat and, accompanied by a saxophonist, Gurpreet proposed under a gazebo decorated with flowers and candles. Their Italian love story already had a meaningful beginning, so for the wedding, something even more extraordinary was required.
During our scouting service, we selected several villas for the couple and toured them together. We always accompany our clients on venue visits to show them every part of the property—even areas not typically used—because we specialize in Indian weddings and understand the unique requirements of these events.
Their choice fell on one of the most well-preserved and unique Medici villas in Tuscany—a place of extraordinary beauty and historical significance, the perfect setting for their wedding. The villa offers multiple spaces, including an adjacent hotel with additional event areas and a traditional Tuscan borgo with apartments and more venues. There was ample space for their three-day celebration and enough rooms to accommodate their 120 guests.
To make the most of the venue, we distributed the events across three locations. We began with the bride’s Choora and welcome party at the panoramic restaurant. It was the perfect start, as it faced the main wedding villa, offering guests a preview of the iconic setting from day one. For her Choora, the bride requested a floral sofa, and our mehndi artist created an intricate and stunning design. Delicious Tuscan barbecue was offered to the guests, together with other incredible food.
On the second day, we used the hotel area with another panoramic restaurant overlooking vineyards and olive groves, where we organized the morning Maiyan and the evening Sangeet. It was a vibrant gathering with pizza, pasta, spritz, and tiramisu. There was also a gelato cart, great music, dancing, and the rhythmic beats of the dhol.
A Grand Sikh Destination Wedding Day in Tuscany ‘s Historic Splendor
For the wedding day, we used the main villa, with its stunning open space overlooking the borgo. It perfectly captured the postcard image of Tuscany—exactly what one imagines when thinking of this region.
Due to unexpected rain, the reception had to be moved indoors instead of taking place outdoors as originally planned. However, an important part of our scouting service is ensuring every venue has a strong Plan B. In this case, the backup plan was exceptional: the couple celebrated in grand historic Medici halls, with separate spaces for the reception, aperitif in the ancient cellars, and the after-party in another elegant salon.
The décor for this wedding was truly unique, especially for the Anand Karaj ceremony. The bride envisioned pampas grass and large green spheres incorporated into both the mandap and the aisle. Our florist exceeded expectations, creating a distinctive setup rarely seen online. Wedding mandap was adorned with pampas and soft pastel tones, while the aisle was lined with large green spheres with pampas accents.
The white canopy enhanced the greenery, and guest seating featured alternating white, green, and sand-colored cushions. The color palette—white, green, and sand—was carried through every detail, including ceremony booklets, programs, and a custom stationery suite featuring a peacock illustration.
A special highlight was the live painting. The groom wanted to surprise the bride and secretly asked us to arrange for an artist. It turned into a beautiful moment, with a stunning painting created during the ceremony.
Even the Baraat vehicle reflected the overall aesthetic. The couple chose a vintage cream-colored Mercedes, perfectly suited to the elegant atmosphere. Their outfits also followed the color palette: the bride wore a stunning lehenga by Anita Dongre, while the groom wore a pastel sherwani with a sage green turban.
Talented dhol players led the Baraat, creating an electrifying atmosphere. A special thanks goes to DJ, who was fantastic and kept the energy high throughout the celebrations—especially during the reception, helping to soften the disappointment of the rain.
Despite being indoors, the reception still felt regal, with candelabras and floral arrangements adding a delicate touch to the historic halls. All pre-wedding events were equally beautifully decorated.
Full of energy, exceptional design, and an iconic location, this three-day wedding was truly unforgettable.
