A Luxury Intimate Indian Wedding in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast
Ravi and Momal came from Canada with a very clear vision for their wedding in Italy. They are a young and ambitious couple who did not want the classic large Indian wedding with 500 guests in an anonymous ballroom. Instead, they dreamed of the breathtaking Italian postcard landscapes — the kind that instantly make your heart skip a beat.
The Amalfi Coast was the destination that captured their hearts the most. They asked us to find the perfect venue to host their very intimate two-day wedding celebration with only 50 guests.
Momal is not Hindu by birth, but she decided to embrace her husband’s religion, and together they chose to celebrate a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony in Italy.
Of course, the most iconic location on the Amalfi Coast for such a celebration could only be Ravello. This charming village perched high above the sea is famous for its spectacular panoramic views, elegant atmosphere, historic villas, and extraordinary gardens overlooking the coastline.
For this intimate Indian wedding on the Amalfi Coast, we selected one of most beloved destination wedding villas in Ravello. This property offers both a luxury hotel and intimate wedding spaces perfectly suited for smaller celebrations.
But before the wedding day itself, there were the pre-wedding festivities. The celebrations began with the classic welcome party — a relaxed Italian pizza party hosted at a beautiful panoramic restaurant and pizzeria. Under a pergola covered with vines, surrounded by stunning coastal views, we designed a floral setup with soft and delicate tones exactly as the bride envisioned. Momal had a very refined and specific aesthetic in mind for the décor, and every detail reflected her elegant taste.
The second day featured a truly unique Sangeet celebration. There were no villas, no large stages, and no elaborate constructions. Instead, guests were surprised with an extraordinary experience aboard a magnificent sailing yacht for a White Sangeet Party along the Amalfi Coast.
The guests spent the afternoon sailing towards Capri, admiring the famous coastline landscapes while sipping Aperol Spritz, dancing to the DJ’s music, and enjoying the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea.
For this event, we intentionally kept the décor light and elegant, incorporating only subtle Amalfi Coast-inspired touches through printed table linens and carefully curated styling details. To honor the couple’s Indian heritage, we organized an Indian buffet dinner on board. It was an unforgettable celebration.
An Elegant Hindu Wedding Ceremony Overlooking the Amalfi Coast
Finally, the third day was the wedding day. The couple opted for an afternoon Hindu ceremony held in the lower garden of the villa. A white fabric mandap was decorated with floral tones inspired by the Amalfi Coast — roses, fuchsia accents, bougainvillea, and rich shades of green. Our trusted Pandit officiated the ceremony, while a talented violinist accompanied the rituals with live music.
Immediately after the ceremony, guests moved to the villa’s main garden for cocktail hour. The garden, featuring its iconic giant chessboard, became the perfect setting for guests to relax among the scents of the Amalfi Coast while enjoying signature cocktails and Italian aperitivo stations.
The aperitif was followed by dinner inside the villa’s stunning glass gazebo, illuminated entirely by crystal chandeliers. Long imperial tables were decorated with flowers, lemons, and bespoke wedding stationery created specifically for the couple.
One of the true highlights of this wedding was the entertainment. Ravi and Momal wanted to create an immersive and unforgettable experience for their guests. They hired a professional group of dancers who entertained everyone throughout the evening with costume changes, performances, and even a specially prepared Indian dance show.
The two DJs kept the energy alive all night long, first on the custom dance floor inside the gazebo and later inside the villa’s ballroom, where guests danced until late into the night.
This wedding perfectly captured the essence of what an intimate Indian destination wedding in Italy can be — emotional, immersive, elegant, and deeply personal, all surrounded by one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.
