How to be original and not go over budget
Planning your Indian wedding can be exhausting, and often there’s a lack of ideas on how to make the 3-days of celebrations unique and unforgettable. We all want to be original when it comes to a wedding, and we surely want to give our guests coming from far away a real Italian experience. Some of them may have never been to Italy before and they expect to discover our beautiful country, so famous and renowned, through your destination wedding too. You have surely chosen a beautiful wedding venue for your big day and certainly the Mandap and reception set ups will be amazing.
But what can you offer to your guests in a true “Italian style”? Something that they can appreciate but, at the same time, doesn’t make you go over budget? I have the right solution for you! A Pizza Party!
You can find real Italian pizza only in Italy, its homeland
Yes, that’s right, a Pizza Party! Because, who doesn’t love pizza? And mostly because you chose Italy as a destination for your Indian wedding, the homeland of Pizza! Pizza as we know it was invented in Naples, in the south of Italy, and from there it expanded throughout the entire country becoming the most beloved food not only in Italy but all over the world. It’s simply so good! But beware, it’s not so easy to find a real Italian pizza abroad, it’s never as delicious as it is in Italy.
Pizza can be made in so many different ways, to please everyone’s palate. It can also be vegan, as we know that in Indian weddings there can often be vegan guests, and the majority are vegetarians. The preparation of the pizza dough starts from very simple ingredients, such as flour, water, yeast and salt… and then you add all the toppings you prefer: tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, grilled or pickled vegetables, mushrooms or potatoes, or other types of toppings for the non-vegetarians.
Woodfire pizza for a truly unique experience
For a truly unique experience go for the woodfire pizza. Yes, because here in Italy most of the restaurants only have woodfire ovens for the pizza, and many of the wedding venues are now equipped to offer that experience to their guests too. This means that the pizza is made right in front of your eyes. You can choose your toppings, and the “pizzaiolo” will make that pizza just for you. And that’s what we try to recreate in our Pizza Parties. When it is possible, if the wedding venue in Italy chosen by the couple has a woodfire oven, we take advantage of that and throw an exciting Pizza Party. And, believe me, watching those “pizzaioli” make pizza, will leave you and your guests speechless!
Why throwing a Pizza Party?
Another reason why we often suggest throwing a pizza party, is because it’s cheap and very easy to organize in an easy and relaxed atmosphere! And even if the chosen wedding venue doesn’t have a woodfire oven, they surely have an electric pizza oven to make tasty pizzas for your celebrations in Italy. After all, pizza in Italy is surely delicious no matter where you are.
You will be able to taste different types of pizza, you can also choose to only have vegetarian ones, but believe me, they will all taste amazing! And if you really want to have a full-on Italian style, add some bruschetta with chopped cherry tomatoes and dinner is served! Then you just need to add some fruit or desserts and that’s it, you don’t need to worry about fancy and expensive menus. In this way, you have organized a whole meal in a cheaper way, and therefore, you’ll be able to save some of your budget and use it in the planning of other events.
Besides, we all know that an Indian wedding is made of many different events and, as a consequence, there are a lot of meals to be served to your guests. You need to pay attention to your budget!
What occasion to choose for a Pizza Party?
When is it best to throw a Pizza Party during the celebrations? It obviously depends on the events you have planned, on how enriched you want your wedding celebrations program to be. Most couples decide to spread the wedding celebrations in three days and they usually plan a welcome party as the first event. This is a very useful occasion for those guests who don’t know each other to get acquainted, and for those who haven’t seen each other in a long time to catch up in a relaxing and informal atmosphere. The welcome party helps to create an easy context, to rest after the long trip and to get ready for the full days of the wedding. And the Pizza Party lets you dive in the Italian atmosphere and enjoy Italian taste. Otherwise, if your celebrations program is shorter and maybe you decided to only have 2 days of wedding, then the Sangeet /Jago are also good alternatives for a Pizza Party. It’s always a cheerful and joyful event, not very formal, where you eat, drink, dance, and enjoy a good pizza. You can’t go wrong with that!
How to add the “wow-factor” to a Pizza Party?
You may say that a Pizza Party is a great idea, but maybe a little too simple, and it needs a “wow-factor”. Some suggestions? Of course, I have some!
First of all, the setting needs to be taken care of. Sure, pizza makes you think of a more rustic set up, but rustic can be different too. Maybe you could use a checkered tablecloth and aromatic herbs or chilly plants as centerpieces, have corners with wooden boxes full of tomatoes, or straw hats hung here and there. This way, you can make your Pizza Party more glamour, in Dolce&Gabbana style! Or maybe you could create a more magical atmosphere with led lights hanging over the tables, or with colorful lanterns to add a colorful touch. And if you really want to wow your guests, I suggest Acrobatic Pizza makers! Just picture them making the pizza twirl in the air, spinning it quickly – a real show for the joy of your guests!
Any option you decide to choose, be sure that the whole evening will be a success, making everyone happy and contributing to create unforgettable memories to cherish when you return home.
